Abstract
This report summarises a brief survey of degradation in the Southern River/Wungong Catchment, an area of approximately146 square kilometres, which feeds into the Canning River in Perth, Western Australia. The catchment comprises ten subcatchments, bounded by the peak of Bedfordale Hill on Albany Highway in the east, Denis De Young Reserve, Banjup in the west and Thornlie Senior High School in the north. It consists of parts of Perths hills, foothills and flats areas with land uses including commercial horticulture and other intensive industries, remnant bush, water catchments, light industry, small landholdings (hobby farms) and urban areas.
