Abstract
The Wheatbelt region in Western Australia covers 15.7 million hectares, mainly dedicated to broadacre farming generating 68% of $3.3 billion in agriculture, led by wheat, barley, canola, oats, and lupins. The economy also involves livestock, horticulture, tourism, fishing, mining, and emerging aquaculture. Rainfall varies, with recent declines affecting crop yields; land value is around $2,500 per hectare.
