Abstract
Genera examined were Agropyron, Bromus, Dactylis, Ehrharta, Eragrostis, Festuca, Hordeum, Hyparrhenia, Lolium, Oryzopsis, Phalaris, and Puccinellia. The most promising were summer dormant ecotypes of Phalaris, Festuca, Hordeum and Dactylis from the Mediterranean region, and some lines of Ehrharta, Eragrostis, and Hyparrhenia which were summer active. Agropyron and Puccinella performed well in saline soils. Most cultivars from temperate lands survived poorly.
