Abstract
Lupins were more sensitive than peas to fertiliser damage, whether the fertiliser was superphosphate or urea banded with the seed, or urea topdressed immediately after seeding. Lime pelleting gave lupin seed some protection from topdressed urea damage and allowed germination and emergence to occur earlier than germination and emergence of non-pelleted seed. Narrow leaf lupins were more susceptible to damage from banded or broadcast urea than sandplain lupin.
