Livestock prices are shown as monthly weighted average prices calculated from saleyard auction prices, Prior to July 1989 Midland auctions were reported on by the Western Australian Department of Agriculture's Livestock Market Reporting Service, Since July 1989, prices are derived from a weekly summary of sales prepared under contract to the Department of Agriculture by Nicholls Independent Livestock Information Service ,
Livestock slaughterings and production are derived from Australian Bureau of Statistics Catalogue No. 1305.5.
