Cover picture: The colourful moth of Papilio demoleus sthenelus, the chequered swallowtail, makes an unusual picture for Department of Agriculture photographer Ken Locke as it emerges from its cocoon. The insect prefers the drier interior, where it is often found on citrus trees. The leaf-eating larvae can strip a small tree.
