Cover picture: Safflower – an oil seed crop for the Ord River irrigation area. Settlers on the first five Ord River farms are now planting the first crops on their farms. Safflower was selected because it has consistently given good results in trials at the Kimberley Research Station. Success with these crops will get the new Ord River irrigation area off to a good start.
