Abstract

The purpose of this report is to determine, through desk top statistical analysis, key countries which hold significant promise for the export expansion of the Western Australian field pea industry.

The report is comprised of five parts. 1) a brief field pea overview, 2) world field pea production and trade, 3) Australian field pea production and trade, 4) Western Australian field pea production and trade and 5) conclusions.

The first four sections aim to identify the major producers, exporters, importers and premium markets operating in the international field pea market. The fifth section concludes by identifying six countries that warrant further in-market analysis to determine their field pea preferences.
