The proceedings book based on the 25th Lowell Wakefield Fisheries Symposium is indispensable to crab scientists for their research, and to fishery managers to enhance management of crab populations. The book has 27 peer-reviewed papers by international crab fishery researchers, on the mechanisms of human-caused and natural fluctuations of crab stocks and fisheries around the world. The papers contribute significantly to the body of knowledge on crab population dynamics, resiliency to fishing, climate effects, and the role of habitat for Alaska king crab, Dungeness crab, blue crab, and other crab stocks and fisheries. The publication can be used in college fisheries classes to help educate future crab resource managers.
