Description
Pea for grain is grown in a wide range of cropping systems in many parts of the world, mostly in rotation with wheat or other cereals. Pea not only contributes to the stability and productivity of these systems as a crop in its own right and as a source of fixed N for following crops but also facilitates management of weeds and diseases of other crops in the overall system context. This article deals with pea adaptation and production technology in Europe, North America, and Australia. We discuss sowing time; sowing management; crop nutrition; weed, disease, and pest management; and harvesting.
