Description
This article surveys the agronomy of the three most commonly grown lupin species - narrow-leafed lupin (NLL, Lupinus angustifolius L., also known as the Australian sweet lupin, or blue lupin);
- white lupin (WL, Lupinus albus L.); and
- yellow lupin (YL, Lupinus luteus L.).
It describes briefly the Australian and European farming systems in which they are grown, why each species is grown where it is, and the principles underlying the management of lupin crops. Current agronomic recommendations for growing lupin are also described.
