Cover picture: The state’s main apple variety Granny Smith is a dual-purpose apple well suited to long storage and highly popular here and overseas. Exports in the 1965 season totalled a record 1,000,000 bushels. Increased apple plantings in W.A. are mainly of Granny Smiths and production of the variety will increase greatly in the next few years..
