Cover picture: This month’s cover show the spectacular results of aerial topdressing and seeding of timbered hill slopes on the Department of Agriculture’s Wokalup Research Station. The area was first top-dressed and seeded (with 10 lb an acre of Mt Barker subterranean clover) from the air in 1961. Fertiliser used was a bag to the acre of copper-zinc super phosphate. The hillslopes have been steadily grazed since, and under the influence of fertiliser and grazing the scrub has gradually been replaced by productive sub-clover pastures.
