Cover picture: Four and a half sheep to the acre have been set stocked since October 1961, on this area of 120 acres at the Esperance Downs Research Station. So far they have produced a total of more than 100 lb of wool per acre. Besides lifting production, set stocking also has a place in soil conservation farming – just how is told in an article on page 142 of this issue.
