Cover image: Our cover picture this month shows the Department of Agriculture’s new wool testing laboratory at South Perth. Since the laboratory started operating about a year ago more than 4,000 fleeces have been tested by the Department’s flock testing service. Today about 45 percent of the merino rams bred and sold in Western Australia come from studs which are using fleece measurement.
