Matters Of Importance In Respect Of The “Fit And Proper Person” Criterion For Authorisations Under The Fish Resources Management Act 1994.
The requirement that an applicant be a “fit and proper person” is often used as a criterion in the grant, transfer and renewal of statutory licences, permits and leases. This is a consideration of the applicant’s suitability, appropriateness, and legal eligibility to undertake the particular activity applied for.
