Abstract
In southern Australia, cattle enteric methane emission—despite significant variation across regions and rainfall zones—are calculated using generic national conditions and emission factors. Measuring locally relevant emissions in diverse grazing systems offers two key benefits:
(1) enhancing the accuracy of Australia’s enteric emission inventory, and
(2) providing data to support tailored, region-specific mitigation strategies.
We undertook a full-year baseline study. As this was an observational study, we did not evaluate a specific hypothesis.
