Abstract
The White Italian Snail (Theba pisana) has long been a serious problem to cereal growers in the Dongara-Greenough area.
Early Department work on the problem resulted in the proving of baits and the development of a harvesting attachment.
Ecological studies done by entomologist Mr. G. D. Rimes over the past four years have shown that snail distribution depends on the availability of free calcium for shell construction.
