Abstract
Research into climatic factors at Geraldton which affect tomato production, clearly illustrate the important role played by temperature. The temperature data obtained, strongly supported original American work, which showed the important relationship between this factor and fruit quality. Prolonged exposure to low temperatures adversely affected quality, and rendered fruit more liable to injury and fungal infection.
