Abstract
Inquiries are being received concerning the value of using preservatives such as sodium metabisulphite when making silage. Encouraging reports have been published overseas concerning the effectiveness of this chemical in reducing waste and increasing the palatability of silage. The following comment is copied from the Journal of the Royal Agricultural Society of England (Volume 117, page 136, 1956).
