Abstract

The time is drawing near when womenfolk all over the State will be preparing cookery exhibits for the local agricultural shows or considering the submission of exhibits for the Perth Royal Show.

Naturally the prizes are awarded to the exhibitors who can score the greatest number of points for their entries and quite frequently it is difficult for the onlookers, or even the exhibitor, to understand why the judges give more points to Exhibit A than they do to Exhibit B. There are so many points to be considered when judging entries that it is easy to lose a few marks here and there and the following advice may prove helpful to intending exhibitors.

This is a historical article, modern agricultural shows may have different standards.
