Abstract

A roaded catchment consists of groups of surveyed parallel roads of bare compacted soil and with steep side slopes designed to increase run-off. This type of catchment has a special application in districted with low intensity rainfall and for areas having naturally poor run-off characteristics. Although water yield from roaded catchments has never been directly measured in Western Australia, the design basis is discussed.
